2020.11.28 16:11 Peterson95 Male(25) Scotland - Female (19) Germany

So an update for everyone,

We met online and it was the best thing ever, she played games I played games
(Inner childhood dream becomes reality) - (Broke up after 6 months together)

So first few months were amazing, April 30th 2020 to be exact, lead up to a few issues with trust and stuff but we fixed it and got better, I learned a lot about her, her past, and current situations which I don't feel is right on my behalf to say, but she had trauma and I didn't expect it to be as bad.

May - Became loving and really close, never a day without each others company, Instant problem, no time for yourself because its the love phase and the Adrenaline is high between you both and its long distance so things get more amped up as you want to prove yourself.

June, same as may, feelings become more and more connected, learning more by the day about each other, few disagreements because she was doing drugs with friends and one guy friend said they may need to share a bed, I wasn't confident or happy with it, we worked it out he slept on the living room floor she shared a bed wit ha girl friend, she sent a picture to prove it which shouldn't have been the case but she wanted to assure me.

July, Feelings are becoming more towards the I love you sign, I dropped the I love you she did too, it became a daily thing, movie nights together watching her favourite childhood cartoons or movies she remembered ( Aristocats,101 Dalmatians, Inside out) Started to speak about flying to her at the end of July, Corona virus got worse I was furloughed nothing to do, stuck in Scotland, lost all my friends because of my depression getting worse decided to make myself happy and fly to her to close the gap, I done it August 1st -8th. She was scared, past trauma, panic attacks took over her, she didn't want me to fly, she spoke to her dad, he said book the flights and live with us in Munich, I done it. Adrenaline was high, I haven't flew in 13 years, and I was doing it all alone, got the train to the town centre, memory in my head of it saved, got to the town centre messaged her, I'm almost at the airport, butterflies in my stomach fear was there but I suppressed it, never felt like this for a girl, not even my exes. Got the bus to the airport, flight booked in at 18:00 Edinburgh - Landed in Munich 21:00 during the flight I slept, constantly dreaming of her and meeting her. Landed in Munich, mother calls me, wishing me luck and she's proud of me for stepping out my comfort zone for a girl 1300km away.
(there was some issues with a girl flirting with me at this point and a lot of other stuff that happened that was resolved but caused problems because she didn't trust girls and I didn't trust guys a few other things such as other guys flirting with her and her not seeing it as flirting and passing it for them joking around, me being caring for her because her problems and past i got more protective of her because I didn't know how else to react, she wouldn't tell me the full story of stuff and hide it, then the next day she would tell me, and it would cause more stress, because she needs time to word things correctly so she doesn't fuck anything up, but doing that it stressed me out thinking there was problems everyday etc))

I get to my exit gate, I see her I'm nervous scared, she comes to me we hug, I meet her dad (who is the most nicest man I've ever met and regret hurting him through hurting his daughter) It was all so quick and nerve racking, sat in the back of the car, awkward silence for a bit, she texts me (I love you so much and I'm happy you came) currently crying while writing this as my depression and love for her is still strong even thought its been two weeks and I keep ruining every chance, Sitting in the back of the car we finally converse, things are good, we get home I get my room located in the basement where her dad works from home. We relax in her room watch a movie, she cuddles up next to me, we kiss for the first time, I will never forget it, it felt like a first kiss and I will hold id close to me, the next days I met her mother on Sunday as I arrived Saturday, we went travelling around Munich visiting places, I got sick due to travel sickness and not eating because the nerves. Had a meal couldn't properly eat it felt bad for wasting her dads money and offered to pay, (no you are our guest) I still regret not paying and not eating because I'm a guest. The next day we relaxed had a few movies, then went out to meet her real life friends who were so nice and welcoming, the guy her best friend Kuba, still in contact with me and still talks to me, made me food I ate thank god food I'm my tummy, I cant keep my eyes off her, she's so beautiful, I begin questioning myself how, why, typical things always waiting for the red flags because my past trauma with my abusive and controlling ex, We go about our day, get burgers to eat and stuff, alcohol, I couldn't really drink because I found out I had a issue with my stomach due to over drinking alcohol during furlough, went home she was drunk we lay in bed i opened up about my past life and my ex with her, i cried for the first time since i was 16 after my uncle passed away that night, i never showed emotions or feelings, I was a bit of a fuck boy before i met her, sleeping around with other girls, then i found the one, her and still two weeks into the breakup she feels like the one to me and i cant move on.
After all the fun we had, i never slept with her, because she wasn't on the pill i had no condoms, i wanted to but i didn't because i valued her past and wanted it to be the right time when we did it. Apart of me feels she hates me for not doing it but im over thinking everything, im ruining more things than i am making it better.

So i fly home on August 8th, i land depressed sad, crying she messages me come online when your home we relax in discord we talk and flirt the usual stuff, I've became weaker, more emotional and open, nothing really happens in this month of August apart from us talking more planning more.

September - Stress, Operation, Depression, and anxiety and more problems occur. She has her birthday in September, shes mature for her age and thats what attracted me originally and she was funny, Exams and her depression gets worse, i begin to focus more on her needs ordering her stuff, rings, a necklace, a teddy bear, flowers every month also forgot to mention this as its something i like to do for her, She's fine, in hospital im worried waiting for her to be home, we message all the time comforting her being there for her, not realising my breakdown is near and im about to hit rock bottom. She gets out, stress from school, doubting herself losing faith in herself, i begin to think its me, im doing something wrong, what do i do? I work harder and it makes it more stressful because i don't know what else to do, she says she needs time at the end of September, this goes on until the breakup, I over work myself during work im back working in the Gyms and working from home in my other job, constantly telling people about her, showing people pictures of us in Germany, loving her missing her daily, she's my everything my princess, Im happy with her and what we have, My ex appears in the gym, my trauma goes into overdrive, she's dating my best friend now, we argue, i get mad depressed sad, i crumble, i try to explain to my current girlfriend the issues, but im getting mad because im not explaining myself the way i want to, she tells me its ok i love you your the one for me, i begin to feel insecure and my past is taking over, i book appointments for therapy in October as follows.

October - The worst month of the relationship, so she needs time, reaches out to her old German friends, doing so she meets more girls, guys etc, one guy she met Marc only knew him for three days and instantly he has her number for WhatsApp, I asked him who gave who their numbers, he said he gave her his, she said she gave him hers, two conflicting stories, i begin to over think and doubt myself im already falling apart, i ask for time and she tells me "How ironic, now you need time" i held on so much and tried to push through but i crumbled, and she thinks im blaming her for things when im not im lost confused and hurt, unsure of what else to do. I speak to my therapist he tells me to take time, dont message your girlfriend just stop writing lengthy paragraphs and getting mad your not getting what you put into it in return., so i do so, she spams me "Why are you distant" "what's wrong" i tell her im sorry i need time, im mentally unstable right now, being furloughed from the gym again, losing more money, my mothers stressing me out for rent money, my bills i cant pay im stressed, relationship becomes harder to manage because she feels im caging her when i finish work and say im finished work, as if its a key word for "Get online and play with me" she has always had her opportunity to say no, so we discuss more and more trying to fix it, seems to get worse with no result, so i say, lets plan a day for us and us only, i told all my friends im busy on this day dont contact me, Saturday comes, we game together after i finish work, we play up until 9:30 pm when she says "My friends want me to play games, is it ok if i play, its up to you" I reply no truthfully we arranged today for us, games all day then a movie, she sighs and gets upset, so she goes quiet and i say, just go play with your friends then if you want to its fine, she replies, NOOO i want to play with you and then a movie. So im getting mixed signals from this and it hurts, also her "friend" Marc we tried to play but i went quiet and had a breakdown because i wasnt ready, i tried to explain this to him, he tells me "your an adult, man up and stop being insecure, and an asshole controlling her" which sets me off big time, like you dont know me i just tried to explain and you insult me after you showed me you were overweight you asked me to help you and you return it with this issue like what?
We also broke up unofficially the first time due to me breaking her trust and fucking things up, which i can understand why, i promised her everything, but i kept fucking up because i was stressed and scared to loss her, and she was distancing herself more and more from me, we would only see each other at midnight for a movie, and at that point there was no talking movie and sleep that was it, so no bonding, we made no plans but she could just go on message her friends and thats her the whole day gaming with them. The thing that annoyed me the most was Marc, how he disrespects my emotions and traumas and tells me his and i respected him for it. He continues to play around with my emotions, blocking me re-adding me causing more issues and making me more angry, so i blocked him, to which i was happy, then i started to get messages on an app ( Tellony, basically anonymous people can ask you questions) so i started to get weird ones, that i only told her about, turns out shed talk to him about stuff etc, and then the questions would appear for me, so i asked her she confirmed yes we did talk, he denies typing them when i know im right, my gut says so, this was another issue, distrusting myself also, saying na it wont be this wont be that, so i grew more weaker to my own trust. After that we got back together etc, ran up to November 2nd when we broke up officially, it became too much, she felt i was blaming her etc, more issues got worse, my depression the lack of income, everything got ontop of me, she tried to understand me but her stress ontop of mine was too much, she lost friends to drugs also which added up ontop of it etc, she played with those people to destress and stuff, but i felt neglected and useless, but she didnt realise this how i felt about her pushing me away, anyways it got worse and still is worse now, i miss her we tried to be friends more issues keep happening, i feel we can be together again, but i dont know i need to get better but i cant because well, i feel disrespected that she plays with this Marc guy, even tho he breaks her trust more than me, and she plays with him alone sometimes for hours, then with the others, and it pisses me off truthfully, even tho hes not her type, it annoys me because i respected her, i blocked the girl flirting with me, i removed people for shit talking her and kicked them, because i respect her, but i didnt feel i was getting respect back, and shed send pictures to me of chats and stuff that she said she wanted to do in order to help me etc, and Marc said why would you ask her to do that, its all annoying me really i dont know what to think
I cant get over her either, we are constantly toxic daily and stuff, tried to be friends constant issues etc the lot. I cant block her she cant block me because i unblock her and i love her so much still

2020.11.28 01:54 DragonVengeance Definitive Japanese Resource List

Here's all the resources I've found to learn and become fluent in Japanese. Not all of these resources are free of course, but there's a lot of great things here!

1 – Textbooks - Genki 1, Genki 2, and “An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese”. In colleges, Japanese 101 and 102 go through Genki 1...Japanese 201 and 202 go through Genki 2...and Japanese 301 and 302 go through "An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese"
-Genki 1 and 2: (https://www.amazon.com/Integrated-Elementary-Japanese-Vocabulary-Academic/dp/B07QN3QTNH/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=genki+1&qid=1587082541&sr=8-7)
-Intermediate Japanese: (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077GP2P42/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

1a - A Guide to Japanese Grammar - A Japanese Approach to Learning Japanese Grammar(http://www.guidetojapanese.org/grammar_guide.pdf) (http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar) - Greatest textbook I've found at teaching grammar! This textbook is online for free, and in physical form on amazon. I was amazed how well this book goes over grammar!...and just how closely it followed my own notes on the language!

2 – Anki (A flashcard app for your phone) (https://apps.ankiweb.net/) - You can create flashcards and review them during breaks (standing in line, bathroom, laying around being lazy). It helps immensely goingover characters, kanji, words, grammar over and over again using flashcards onyour phone! There's a desktop version to create and edit decks...and apps on both iphone and android that you can transfer your decks to. There's also tons of pre-made decks people have made that you can download (Hiragana and Katakana are good ones to start with)

3 – italki.com - Have conversations and lessons with a legit Japanese person! I’ve found when I learned other skills (guitar, piano, computerprogramming, etc.) that you really need someone to talk to to ask questions andcorrect you in mistakes you didn’t even know you were doing! Talking with a Japanese person greatly helps to correct your pronunciation and grammar! More so, just being able to practicespeaking and having a conversation with a native speaker is essential!

4 – Japanese Cable (forjoytv.com) - 77 Channels (news, dramas, music, cartoons, etc. live from Japan) I typically have Japanese music videos playing in the background as I’m working or doing otherthings. It really helps in hearing the language being spoken, and I’ve foundmyself catching certain words and phrases here and there already! They often have lyrics written on the screen too, so I try to read along as they’resinging. (Channels 63-67 are all music video channels)

5 – Reading manga in Japanese (I just got a beginner manga とつばと) - Having regular books like this is definately helpful! I've been told to be careful though, as manga likes to use words and phrases that aren't often spoken in normal conversation.

6 – Youtube – Japanese Ammo With Misa (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBSyd8tXJoEJKIXfrwkPdbA) has excellent videos on Japanese, and goes into great detail (and tangents) on how she has personally experienced it spoken. Misa also has a website devoted to teaching Japanese (http://www.japaneseammo.com/), which is also excellent! "Abroad in Japan" (https://www.youtube.com/usecmbroad44) is also a good one (although he doesn't teach Japanese persay)!

7 - Kanji List - "Kyōiku kanji" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ky%C5%8Diku_kanji) is taught in Japanese Elementary Schools (1,026 kanji) and "jōyō kanji"(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_j%C5%8Dy%C5%8D_kanji) is taught in Japanese Secondary Schools (2,136 kanji total - including the Elementary 1,026). I've been told by a friend of mine who moved to Osaka, that after a year there, he's noticed only the first 1,000 kanji are really used...and he rarely sees the other half. There's actually more kanji than this, but these are the only ones that are actually taught in schools...and only half of those are really used commonly.

8 - Type with Japanese! - Google Japanese IME (Japanese Typing on PC) (https://www.google.co.jp/ime/). Alt-Shift Enables/Disables Japanese typing mode...Alt-Caps Lock changes from hiragana to katakana...after typing a word, you can click tab to go through all possible kanji it can refer to and select the one you meant. There's also japanese typing apps on phones! (I use the "fleksy" keyboard on Android - After enabling Japanese mode (bottom of the language list named 日本語) Scroll left on the space bar to transform into Japanese Mode...Scroll right on the space bar to transform into English Mode)

9 - Japanese Dictionary (https://jisho.org/) - Type in english or japanese words, and figure out the actual translation easily

10 - Japanese Kanji Stroke Order (https://www.tanoshiijapanese.com/dictionary/) - Search for a japanese word and the app displays the correct stroke order to draw the kanji

11 - Japanese Pitch Accent - Extremely important! Very quick and easy to understand. Learn this early on, so you can memorize words correctly the first time!
-Jisho Chrome Extension - (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jisho-ojad/dpaojegkimhndjkkgiaookhckojbmakd?hl=en)
-Online Dictionary - (http://www.gavo.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ojad/eng/search/index)
-Japanese Dictionary - (https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/4140113456/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8)
-Lesson for the Basics - (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-bk_4WvY58)

12 - Pronunciation (https://forvo.com/search/) - Search for any Japanese word, and there's several audio recordings of native speakers saying the word. Note: Kanji vs Non-Kanji spellings are considered 2 different words...so try both to get more results (For example, たべる and 食べる are considered 2 seperate words on the site)

13 - PC Chrome Kanji Reader - rikaikun (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rikaikun/jipdnfibhldikgcjhfnomkfpcebammhp?hl=en). If a kanji appears in chrome, if you mouse over it, a tooltip appears telling you what hiragana and english meaning the kanji / word is

14 - Kanji Handwritting Detection (https://kanji.sljfaq.org/) - This simple website let's you draw a Kanji you may have seen in a book, and does a fair job of showing you what that kanji means.

15 - Japanese Verb Conjugators (http://japaneseverbconjugator.com/) (https://cooljugator.com/ja) (https://conjugator.reverso.net/conjugation-japanese.html) - Type in a verb, and these websites will show a bunch of conjugations of the verb.

16 - Pacific League Baseball (https://tv.pacificleague.jp/ptv/pc/) - If you're interested in Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB), this site is very similar to mlb.tv. You can catch any game live (and replays dating back 10+ years)

17 - Use Google Chrome Webpage Translator - In Google Chrome...Right Click on a web page and click "Translate to English". It does an ok job translating the page for you. It's not amazing, but it gets the job done if you're trying to put in credit card information to pay for television!

18 - Google things! Google translate is quite poor unfortunately...but there's tons of additional resources by just searching "Japanese Colors, Japanese Numbers, etc."

Anyways, have fun learning Japanese!

2020.11.27 05:30 YoungGayAndTired 18 and really need some advice/support

(Warning: This post is very long) I’ve never done a post like this before but I’m really in a rut right now.
I’m an 18, almost 19 now, gay male. I grew up Catholic and was extremely repressed (I know that’s a cliche but I think the context is important here.)
My parents are very conservative and traditionalist, they’ve also been at each other’s throats my entire life, and have threatened divorce countless times although they’ve gone through with it.
You could say I didn’t grow up in a very warm or loving environment (you’d be right), and I think it’s really affected me in a negative way.
Not even just my home life, but my life in general. I don’t want to go into my life story, so I’ll keep it brief. I’m really just doing this as a way to vent.
The first 11 years of my life was spent in a very religious community in rural Pennsylvania; Catholic school, church twice a week, bible study and youth camp and all that. I knew from a very early age I was different. For a while I didn’t know what that different was.
Around the 3rd grade I started being called gay and fag. I would ask my parents what this stuff meant and they refused to answer. They basically would tell me it was something I didn’t need to know about and something I shouldn’t want to be called.
Little moments like that are peppered all throughout my early life. Curiosity; about sexuality, about gender, about expression. And that curiosity immediately being shot down, or condemned.
At 11, I moved for the first time, all the way to Florida. This was a completely different environment from that sheltered religious New England vibe of my early youth.
My middle school years were spent at an average, public school, and I basically spent those 3 years trying to catch up with everyone, both in terms of learning (all those bible studies in elementary meant I had missed a lot of important knowledge), and socially (these people were basically an entirely different species from what I knew in PA.)
I sort of had to become a chameleon in a way; blend in to the environment, mimic my surroundings, don’t get into any trouble and don’t call much attention to yourself. I sort of shifted between different friend groups and was known as the tall quiet one.
I think those years were pretty formative because I had to invent a new personality, separate from my own, and separate from my religious one at home. I was bouncing between praise the lord, try to have a social life, and “hey what are these strange feelings I’m having inside.” Of course the first two took center stage.
I moved AGAIN right before high school. Every day I was becoming more closeted, more introverted, more repressed. I think there was just so much change happening all at once, I had no idea how to cope. So, when you move to a new city and your son is appearing to not be handling it well, what can you, as a parent, do to help them feel safe? Doctors, therapy, counseling? No, of course not. Home school!
So yeah, my parents have never been the type to trust medical advice. Instead of getting me treatment to improve my mental health, I got high school stuck in a house that was empty 90% of the day and full of arguments and fights the other 10%.
Before my senior year, I finally hit my breaking point. I felt shattered and empty. I had gained a lot of weight. I barely went outside. Any social skills I might have acquired had vanished. No friends and no life.
I obviously spent a lot of time but myself during this point, and thus I spent much of that time fighting personal battles inside. I had hidden so many of the conflicts I had within myself for so long, now they were all bubbling to the surface. And I realized a lot of things that I basically already knew.
I came to terms with my sexuality. That was perhaps the longest and most arduous battle. I was not the picture perfect depiction of a Christian man my parents wanted. I realized religion was bullshit and everyone I had been taught was a lie. I realized my parents were an incredibly toxic presence. I realized what I wanted to do with my life and how the only way I could achieve these goals was to escape the situation I was in. So senior year rolls around, and I convince my parents to let me enroll in a real, physical high school. I dont know what I was expecting going in, probably just from watching too many movies, but it was kind of a shock when I found out it was so... lonely.
I felt just as lonely in there surrounded by 2000 people my own age as I did when I was trapped in an empty house for three years doing homeschool.
Around the holidays, though, things seemed to be looking up. I had a couple friends, I was doing well in my classes, I lost a ton of weight, and I had my first crush.
Then, reader... we find ourselves in the present day. COVID hits and any progress I might have made was thrown out the window.
Those friends? Ghosted after a few weeks in quarantine. Those grades? I was barely passing. That crush? A straight boy who was NONE TOO PLEASED when I revealed my feelings to him.
So yeah. Starting in about March everything sort of went downhill.
Then in august, I became desperate. And that’s where this story kind of takes a turn.
I started signing up for every hookup app under the sun. For about three months, I was meeting random people in their cars every other night. My first kiss, my first sexual experience, my first anything gay with another person. I went from 0 to 100 in no time.
So about two dozen anonymous hookups later, I felt like shit. Not just mentally, i mean I felt like shit and I think I may have contracted something from one of those guys.
But on the mental side, yeah I was at an all time low. I considered suicide for a little bit. I didn’t attempt it or anything, but I just felt like I was out of options.
I just craved some kind of human connection SO BAD. So I took a break from the hookups and turned to the dating apps. I spent a much just chatting with guys and trying to navigate this area of life I had never approached before.
Well, about a month ago, I finally started dating. I went out with 6 different guys. They vary in terms of success and a couple were flat out disasters (though I’ve gone into enough detail already at this point.) There was always something I did wrong that squandered any chance of a relationship. I wasn’t talkative enough, or I was too talkative, or I was annoying, or I was too boring, etc.
Of course, I thought i was doing just fine. In fact I thought I had hit it off once or twice, like I was experiencing a genuine connection.
Yet, even if they seemed like we were feeling the same way on the date, I would always get a text two days later saying: “sorry, just not my type/not looking for a relationship.” I felt defeated. I really did.
Then I went out with another guy, who I was honestly kind of reluctant about. He didn’t seem like my type at all. He was also an hour away from me, but whatever I’ll take anything at this point.
I trekked an hour out of my way to meet this guy at his house (yeah I know thats like Internet Don’ts 101 to travel to the middle of nowhere to meet someone online.)
He was fine! A really nice guy. Kind of quiet and awkward, not dissimilar from myself. It was probably the first time I felt like a bubbly, extroverted person, just by mere comparison.
Anyway I left after our little “get to know you” (I can’t really call it a date since it was just chilling at his house), and I wasn’t sure what to think.
I would have been perfectly content if he had done the same bit as every other guy and texted me a day later with “sorry not interested.”
But that didn’t happen. We continued chatting over text for a few days after. We became very comfortable talking to each other, and I was starting to kind of like him.
Then he drops the bomb that he loves me. It kind of comes out of nowhere. He loves me and he wants to see me again.
I wasn’t sure how to react honestly. He seemed cool and everything, and I wouldn’t mind hanging out again sometime, but... loved me? No one had ever said they loved me before. No one had ever actively wanted to spend time with me before. So I had to say yes. I had to say, yes, I’ll go out with you again.
And a week later, I went back to that house and we hung out for about 8 hours. What I did come to realize was that he seems far more interested in playing video games than talking to another human being (I was able to meet him on that level by playing the video games with him while chatting, although “playing” is a strong word as I have no idea how to play a video game.)
Then he asks me to be his boyfriend. And I think to myself... how can I say no? He’s been so kind to me. Maybe I don’t feel as strongly for him as he does for me... but he wants to be my boyfriend!! You can’t pass that up.
So, this is where the story ends, and where I turn to you, fellow redditors, for guidance.
It has been two weeks now since we started “going out.” Although we’ve only met in person those two times, he texts me all the time now, and he really, really is a nice guy. But I don’t know if I should continue this or not.
It’s not like I don’t feel anything for him. I care about him and I like him a lot as a person. But I’m not sure if I’m conflating love with flattery. Like, I’m just so flattered by the fact someone would be so compassionate and caring for me, i don’t know if what it is I’m feeling is love or not. Or if these feelings are forced? Like am I just so desperate for love, and the fact that I’m being offered love from someone means I’m forcing myself to be in love?
I’d really like to know if anyone could provide some advice. Not just “keep dating him and see where it goes” or “dump his ass,” like, I want to know what you think about this scenario I have presented to you. The reason I gave all that background information in the beginning of this post is so you can kind of understand where I’m coming from and how my life has led up to this point. Maybe you can relate to my situation or maybe you just think it’s nuts.
Honestly, I applaud you if you’ve actually read this far, you basically just finished a novel. Thank you, Reddit, for letting me get this off my chest. I really needed this outlet.

2020.11.24 22:03 conceldor invisible BSOD

Recently i started getting very strange crashes where my pc would freeze for no apparent reason and then my pc would automatically restart.
I checked the reliability manager and notided that i would get around 3 windows hardware errors and then a BSOD shutdown error. I found this odd since i didnt see any BSOD during the crash, only in the report.
I looked up the code and i noticed that i was something GPU related which explains why my screen freezes and why i cant see the BSOD when it actually happens.
Anyway, i tried a few things and i have no idea why i am having these crashes. I have had 4 in the past 2 - 3. 3 of the crashes were whilst using photoshop and 1 of them was whilst watching youtube.
I tried reinstalling my GPU as that was the number 1 fix i found online but it fixed nothing. I have no idea what to do.
Here is the reliabilty manager report:

2020.11.24 12:11 MFRobots Seems a lot of real life women over 40 simply not interested in romantic companionship

Something I've noticed lately outside of online dating, is that I've been meeting women over 40 that have no interest in having a boyfriend. One recently I've met at a meetup social group in my city (pre-Covid), attractive, though she attended these events, which are typically swarming with unattached men, she has to fend those dudes off by telling them just that.
They try to say, "Nah, you can't REALLY mean that?" Even some of the gals chime in, finding it hard to believe. but it's true.
She has contentment with her beloved daughter and her 3 gal pals she goes traveling with nothing more.
They typically have at least one divorced under their belt, like this one. Apparently, the reason she divorced was not mainly due to something drastic (cheating, abuse, etc), but of whatever typical, the usual, downsides that come with marriage. Basically, it's 101 issues that ALL relationships/marriages have.
Lack doing your own thing or needing your spouses/partner's approval, staying out how late and whenever, etc.
To me though, I never thought anything wrong of those, to be honest, but anyways...have the gents here found to try to wind over 40+ lady who is adamant about remaining unattached indefinately?
OH yes, she emphatically told me, "No friends with benefits either"...in case I was thinking it. LOL
You know, 'cause that would be cheating. LOL

Please leave a comment with any other deals you come across and we’ll get this post updated asap!
Beside each brand/store name you'll notice a location (in brackets). u/aromatic_writing suggested below that we include where each store is located and shipping from so that users can better judge where to shop from, and how long shipping might take. If a brand is marked (Int)ernational it may be because the company has distribution centres in a number of countries, or we know it's not Aus, but aren't sure exactly which country it is! If this info is important to you please double-check or contact the brand before purchasing as it may not be totally correct!

2020.11.24 00:09 kirant Covid-19 Update for November 23: 1,549 new cases, 573 recoveries, 5 deaths + Changes to Contact Tracing

Apologies for taking a bit longer than the data upload - there was a time conflict that prevented me from watching the 2 PM conference live
Data is taken from the Covid-19 portal and today's (early) media availability by Dr Deena Hinshaw. Dr Hinshaw's next scheduled availability is tomorrow.
  • It was noted that Dr Hinshaw wasn't available for many questions as she will be providing the Government of Alberta recommendations after the availability. As many media outlets have reported, announcements about the recommendations will be made tomorrow
There are currently enhanced measures in effect for multiple regions of Alberta. This link provides a quick summary of which ones are in effect for different regions of Alberta.

Statements by Dr Hinshaw
Updates to Contact Tracing
  • Despite efforts by AHS to further recruit and already restrict contact tracing, team of investigators hasn't been able to keep up with case investigation demand
  • This has resulted in a backlog in calls from AHS about contact tracing
  • Left with a difficult problem to solve
  • To maximize effectiveness of the team, Dr Hinshaw has asked AHS to start with most recent diagnosed cases and work backwards in order prioritize cases with greatest benefit in reducing transmission
  • Effective tomorrow, if 10 days have passed since the positive Covid-19 result, AHS will not investigate contact tracing or case investigation. Individuals will instead be notified to not expect a call. Such individuals will have already been notified and given instructions on how to inform close contacts
  • Sorry that this will possible reduce communication with AHS, but must focus on using contact tracers where greatest impact is available
  • Healthcare and continuing care workers are flagged as high priority and should likely not be affected
  • To further reduce backlog, effective today, all Albertans who test positive will receive a text message instead of a phone call when isolation period ends
Schools
  • Notes changes in policy means identifying all school cases may no longer be possible. They are still priority
  • To date, 182 schools have likely seen in-school transmissions, with 99 with only one new case
  • 304 schools have alert/outbreaks (1+ active cases), ~13% of all schools, with 64 on Watch list
Status of the Province
  • "We have reached a precarious point in Alberta" with rising cases and wider spread
  • Fatalities and hospitalizations are both growing, challenging the healthcare system
  • "Waiting any longer will impact our ability to care Albertans in the weeks and months ahead"
  • Role is to advise government. Will meet the Priorities Implementation Committee of Cabinet to discuss a series of new measures to limit spread
  • A detailed update will be made tomorrow
  • Media updates will be made every day this week
Q&A - New Restrictions
  • What specific restrictions will be proposed? - Will provide recommendations to elected officials and they will make decisions. Will report tomorrow
  • Where will the measures be targeted? - Variety up for consideration. Will be up to elected officials
  • Is the vagueness in the previous two answers because of a fear of Cabinet rejecting some recommendations? - Role is advisory and cabinet will decide. Cabinet has a lot to consider when seeing the recommendations
Q&A - Other
  • Response to MLAs downplaying pandemic? - Over course of last few months, there were people who hoped we passed the worst of it. Obviously, this is false and we need to change
  • What are the projected hospitalization/ICU use? Can we meet it? - Hospitalizations lag cases by 7-10 days. Should expect to see rise based on results to date. Health system is working hard to make capacity...but as mentioned before, it can come at a cost for other services available
  • Should restrictions should have come earlier? - Should look at the data at the time if we play games with hindsight. Alberta isn't unique in this situation. Only benefit of hindsight is to see how to improve going forward
Additional information will be logged below:
  • Update 1 - I just noticed, for some reason, the portal contains testing data but the summary page didn't reflect it. I've added the testing data for the last 19 days in

Back to CONTENTS
After JFK was pronounced dead at Parkland Hospital, Dr. Robert McClelland wrote in his 11/22/1963 hospital report “The cause of death was due to massive head and brain injury from a gunshot wound of the left temple” (WC Vol. 17, p. 12, CE 392 [text]). Many have taken this to mean a bullet entrance wound in the President’s left temple. McClelland’s report was publicly released on 9/24/1964 with the Warren Commission report appendices, and also on 11/23/1964 in the Commission’s volumes.
On the afternoon of 11/22/1963, Parkland Drs. Malcolm Perry and Kemp Clark spoke at a press conference about what they experienced in Trauma Room One. According to transcript, there was no talk of a frontal entry wound in the head. Only two defects were reported – a small one in the front of the throat and a large one on the head. Dr. Perry said he thought the neck wound looked like a bullet entry.
DR. MALCOM PERRY- I was summoned to the Emergency Room shortly after the President was brought in, on an emergency basis, immediately after the President’s arrival. Upon reaching his side, I noted that he was in critical condition from a wound of the neck and of the head. Immediate resuscitative measures—
QUESTION- Would you go slower?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- I noted he was in critical condition from the wound in the neck and the head.
QUESTION- Could that be done by one shot?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- I cannot conjecture. I don’t know.
QUESTION- A wound of the neck and of the—
DR. MALCOM PERRY- —of the head. [...]
[…]
DR. KEMP CLARK- I am Dr. Clark. —because the President had sustained a brain wound. On my arrival, the resuscitative efforts, the tracheostomy, the administration of chest tubes to relieve any possible—
QUESTION- Could you slow down a little bit, Doctor, please?
DR. KEMP CLARK- —to relieve any possibility of air being in the pleural space, the electrocardiogram had been hooked up, blood and fluids were being administered by Dr. Perry and Dr. Baxter. It was apparent that the President had sustained a lethal wound. A missile had gone in or out of the back of his head, causing extensive lacerations and loss of brain tissue. Shortly after I arrived, the patient, the President, lost his heart action by the electrocardiogram, his heart action had stopped.
[…]
QUESTION- Doctor, can you describe the course of the wound through the head?
DR. KEMP CLARK- We were too busy to be absolutely sure of the track, but the back of his head.
QUESTION- And through the neck?
DR. KEMP CLARK- Principally on his right side, towards the right side.
[…]
QUESTION- Can you describe his neck wound?
DR. KEMP CLARK- I was busy with his head wound. I would like to ask the people took care of that part to describe that to you.
QUESTION- What was the question?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- The neck wound, as visible on the patient, revealed a bullet hole almost in the mid line.
QUESTION- What was that?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- A bullet hole almost in the mid line.
QUESTION- Would you demonstrate?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- In the lower portion of the neck, in front.
QUESTION- Can you demonstrate, Doctor, on your own neck?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- Approximately here (indicating).
QUESTION- Below the Adam’s apple?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- Below the Adam’s apple.
QUESTION- Doctor, is it the assumption that it went through the head?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- That would be on conjecture on my part. There are two wounds, as Dr. Clark noted, one of the neck and one of the head. Whether they are directly related or related to two bullets, I cannot say.
QUESTION- Where was the entrance wound?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- There was an entrance wound in the neck. As regards the one on the head, I cannot say.
QUESTION- Which way was the bullet coming on the neck wound? At him?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- It appeared to be coming at him.
QUESTION- And the one behind?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- The nature of the wound defies the ability to describe whether it went through it from either side. I cannot tell you that. Can you, Dr. Clark?
DR. KEMP CLARK- The head wound could have been either the exit wound from the neck or it could have been a tangential wound, as it was simply a large, gaping loss of tissue.
[…]
QUESTION- Can’t we clear this up just a little more? In your estimation, was there one or two wounds? Just give us something.
DR. MALCOM PERRY- I don’t know. From the injury, it is conceivable that it could have been caused by one wound, but there could have been two just as well if the second bullet struck the head in addition to striking the neck, and I cannot tell you that due to the nature of the wound. There is no way for me to tell.
QUESTION- Doctor, describe the entrance wound. You think from the front in the throat?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- The wound appeared to be an entrance wound in the front of the throat; yes, that is correct. The exit wound, I don’t know. It could have been the head or there could have been a second wound of the head. There was not time to determine this at the particular instant.
QUESTION- Would the bullet have to travel up from the neck wound to exit through the back?
DR. MALCOM PERRY- Unless it was deviated from its course by striking bone or some other object.
(ARRB MD 41 [text])
To this date, nobody has found a full audio recording of the Perry/Clark news conference. The transcript has Dr. Clark suggesting the large defect looked like it could have been a “tangential wound”. Tangential wounds are caused by a missile striking the body at a shallow angle, leaving no easily-identifiable entry point. The possibility was also raised that both wounds could have been made by one bullet – perhaps with a bullet entering the neck and exiting the head. This was reflected in news reports at the time. UPI reported “President Kennedy was shot through the throat and head, possibly by the same bullet, the attending surgeon said Friday”, “Two of the 10 physicians in attendance on the President said it was possible that one bullet entered the throat and went through the back of the President's head. It was possible, they said, that he was hit by two bullets, but they doubted it” (Detroit Free Press, 11/23/1963, Doctor Tells Of Fight for JFK's Life). Earl Ubell of the New York Herald Tribune reported “...He said he did not know if two bullets were involved. It is possible, he said, that the neck wound was the entrance and the other the exit of the missile” (WC Vol. 22, p. 832, CE 1415).
At least a couple of news reports claimed that Perry spoke of a frontal head wound. On 11/23/1963 2:43 PM CST, an Associated Press dispatch on the press conference quoted on WOR radio reported that Dr. Perry said “the entrance wound was on the front of the head” (Patspeer.com, A New Perspective on the Kennedy Assassination, Volume 1: The Kennedy Assassination, Politics, and Propaganda, Chapter 1: The Aftermath). A widely circulated Associated Press story said that when Perry was “asked if possibly the wounds could have been made by two bullets, he said he did not know”, “When asked to specify, Perry said the entrance wound was in the front of the head” (Associated Press, United Press International and Dow Jones teletype reports of the Kennedy assassination, Sheet 10; Lancaster New Era, 11/22/1963; The Hammond Times, 11/22/1963; The Charlotte News, 11/22/1963; Oakland Tribune, 11/22/1963; Albuquerque Tribune, 11/22/1963; Great Falls Tribune, 11/23/1963; Hartford Courant, 11/23/1963). The 11/23/1963 San Francisco Chronicle said “At Parkland Hospital, Dr. Malcolm Perry said Mr. Kennedy suffered a neck wound--a bullet hole in the lower part of the neck--and a second wound in the forehead”. None of Perry’s other recorded statements describe any small wounds in the head (WC Vol. 17, p. 6, 11/22/1963 hospital report [text]; NBC WBAP-TV, 11/23/1963; New York Herald Tribune, 11/24/1963, A Death in Emergency Room One by Jimmy Breslin; WC Vol. 6, p. 7, 3/25/1964 WC testimony [text]; WC Vol. 3, p. 366, 3/30/1964 WC testimony [text]; Harold Weisberg's notes on 11/14/1968 interview with Perry; A CBS News Inquiry: The Warren Report, Part 2, 6/26/1967 [video, 19:01] [transcript]; 12/1/1971 interview by Harold Weisberg, Post Mortem, 1975 edition, p. 378; HSCA Vol. 7, p. 292, HSCA interview, 1/11/1978 [text] [audio]; 1979 interview by Jeff Price, Baltimore Sun, 11/18/1979, The bullets also destroyed our confidence by Steve Parks; Livingstone, High Treason, 1989, PART II: THE MEDICAL EVIDENCE, Chapter 2: The President’s Head Wounds and the New Evidence of Forgery; 1981 Boston Globe interview report; Livingstone, 8/10/1979 interview and 12/21/1981 letter, High Treason 2, 1992, p. 121, Chapter 4. There were more early news reports speaking of an entrance wound in the front of Kennedy’s head.
From the Boston Globe, 11/27/1963, President's Neck, Head Hit by Bullets by Herbert Black:
The Globe has got from an unofficial but authoritative source here what is believed to be an accurate description of the course of events.
[…]
When he was struck, he apparently turned his head toward Mrs. Kennedy (to the left) and began to slump. A second bullet then tore into his left temple and emerged from the right top of his head, the mortal wound.
This information did not come from doctors at the hospital here, who have said they were too busy trying to save the President to study the trajectory of the bullets.
It is, however, from a source in position to know the facts, which were ascertained at the Naval Hopital in Bethesda, where Mr. Kennedy was taken.
This information was doubted at first because it reported that the President was hit on the left temple. It did not seem reasonable that a sniper above and to the right behind the car could hit him on the left side, but information from a film taken of the events tends to corroborate this.
The FBI is investigating all aspects of the shooting and that is believed to be the reason why the official medical reports from the naval hospital have not been released.
From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 11/27/1963, Movies Reconstruct Tragedy by Arthur J. Snider, Chicago Daily News Service:
The 6.5 mm bullet-about .25 caliber - pierced the President's neck just below the Adam's apple. It took a downward course.
"If you're wearing a bow tie, the position is just about where the knot is," said a Dallas neurosurgeon who saw the wound.
[...]
Identification of two points of entry, the throat and the skull, was made by Dr. Kemp Clark, neurosurgeon, and Dr. Tom Shires, chief of surgery at Parkland Hospital.
They said neither bullet was recovered in the hospital emergency room. One bullet was said to have emerged from the left temple.
(Link 2, The Akron Beacon Journal, 11/28/1963, What Was Correct Bullet Sequence? First 2 hit JFK, Film Indicates)
Why would the article say that a point of “entry” in the skull was made by Dr. Clark and Dr. Tom Shires? Dr. Shires wasn’t even there at the time (WC Vol. 21, p. 253, Shires' 11/27/1963 statement; WC Vol. 6, p. 104, Shires’ 3/23/1964 WC testimony [text]), and none of Clark’s direct recorded statements describe a point of entry in the skull. On 3/21/1964, Clark testified to the Warren Commission:
Mr. SPECTER - Were you a part of any press conference which followed on the day of the assassination?
Dr. CLARK - Yes sir; I was.
Mr. SPECTER - And who made the arrangements for the press conference?
Dr. CLARK - Mr. Malcolm Kilduff, the Presidential press secretary.
Mr. SPECTER - At what time did the press conference occur?
Dr. CLARK - Approximately 2:30.
Mr. SPECTER - Where was it held?
Dr. CLARK - It was held in room 101-102, Parkland Hospital.
Mr. SPECTER - What mechanical instruments were used, if any, by the press at the conference?
Dr. CLARK - Tape recorders and television cameras, as well as the usual note pads and pencils, and so forth.
Mr. SPECTER - And who was interviewed during the course of the press conference and photographed?
Dr. CLARK - Dr. Malcolm Perry and myself.
Mr. SPECTER - No one else?
Dr. CLARK - No.
Mr. SPECTER - What, if anything, did you say then in the course of that press conference?
Dr. CLARK - I described the President's wound in his head in very much the same way as I have described it here. I was asked if this wound was an entrance wound, an exit wound, or what, and I said it could be an exit wound, but I felt it was a tangential wound.
Mr. SPECTER - Which wound did you refer to at this time?
Dr. CLARK - The wound in the head.
Mr. SPECTER - Did you describe at that time what you meant by "tangential"?
Dr. CLARK - Yes, sir; I did.
Mr. SPECTER - What definition of "tangential" did you make at that time?
Dr. CLARK - As I remember, I defined the word "tangential" as being---striking an object obliquely, not squarely or head on.
Mr. SPECTER - Will you describe at this time in somewhat greater detail the consequences of a tangential wound as contrasted with another type of a striking?
Dr. CLARK - Let me begin by saying that the damage suffered by an organ when struck by a bullet or other missile---
Mr. SPECTER - May the record show that I interrupted the deposition for about 2 minutes to ascertain what our afternoon schedule would be here because the regular administration office ordinarily closes at 12 o'clock, which was just about 15 minutes ago, and then we resumed the deposition of Dr. Clark as he was discussing the concept of tangential and other types of striking. Go ahead, Doctor.
Dr. CLARK - The effects of any missile striking an organ or a function of the energy which is shed by the missile in passing through this organ when a bullet strikes the head, if it is able to pass through rapidly without shedding any energy into the brain, little damage results, other than that part of the brain which is directly penetrated by the missile. However, if it strikes the skull at an angle, it must then penetrate much more bone than normal, therefore, is likely to shed more energy, striking the brain a more powerful blow.
Secondly, in striking the bone in this manner, it may cause pieces of the bone to be blown into the brain and thus act as secondary missiles. Finally, the bullet itself may be deformed and deflected so that it would go through or penetrate parts of the brain, not in the usual direct line it was proceeding.
Mr. SPECTER - Now, referring back to the press conference, did you define a tangential wound at that time?
Dr. CLARK - Yes.
[…]
Mr. SPECTER - At any of the press conferences were you asked about a hole on the left side of the President's head?
Dr. CLARK - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - At which conference or conferences?
Dr. CLARK - I was asked about this at the CBS conference and I stated that I personally saw no such wound.
Mr. SPECTER - And who asked you about it at that time, if you recall?
Dr. CLARK - The man who was conducting the conference. This was brought up by one of the physicians, I think Dr. McClelland, that there was some discussion of such a wound.
Mr. SPECTER - Did Dr. McClelland say that he had seen such a wound?
Dr. CLARK - No.
Mr. SPECTER - What was the origin, if you know, as to the inquiry on the wound, that is, who suggested that there might have been a wound on the left side?
Dr. CLARK - I don't recall--I don't recall.
Mr. SPECTER - Had there been some comment that the priests made a comment that there was a wound on the left side of the head?
Dr. CLARK - I heard this subsequently from one of the reporters who attended the press conference with NBC.
(WC Vol. 6, p. 18 [text])
Maybe the Commission should have asked Dr. Clark about the news article by Arthur Snider. The transcript does show Clark saying that he “assumed” that he had “probably” been hit “on the other side of the head”, but he again said the large defect looked like a tangential wound.
From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 11/30/1963, UNCERTAINTIES REMAIN DESPITE POLICE VIEW OF KENNEDY DEATH – Did Assailant Have an Accomplice? by Richard Dudman:
There have been two other reports of injury to the President’s head. One of the physicians who attended him in Dallas said afterward that he had noticed a small entry wound in the left temple.
Another person, who saw the President’s body a ‘few minutes after he died,’ told the Post-Dispatch he thought he had observed a wound in the President’s forehead. He asked that his name not be used. Reports of the temple and forehead wounds could have referred to the same injury.
By December, Dr. McClelland seemed to express some approval for the lone gunman theory. From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 12/18/1963, Secret Service Gets Revision On Kennedy Wound by Richard Dudman, A Washington Correspondent of the Post-Dispatch:
Two Secret Service agents called last week on Dallas surgeons who attended President John F. Kennedy and obtained a reversal of their original view that the bullet in his neck entered from the front.
The investigators did so by showing the surgeons a document described as an autopsy report from the United States Naval Hospital at Bethesda. The surgeons changed their original view to conform with the report they were shown.
"There was no coercion at all," Dr. Robert N. McClelland told the Post-Dispatch. "They didn't say anything like, 'This is what you think, isn't it?'"
The Associated Press reported that a source familiar with the autopsy findings said Mr. Kennedy might have survived the first bullet to strike him. He said it was the second bullet which struck his head, that proved fatal.
This source said last night the first bullet struck the President in the back and did not damage any vital organs. He said it was not likely to have caused death. The surgeons' earlier description of a wound in the front of the President's throat as an entry wound had cast doubt on the official belief that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only assassin. It had suggested the possibility that a second sniper had fired simultaneously from somewhere in front of the President's auto-mobile.
The surgeons now support the official view that both bullets that struck the President were fired from behind, from the direction of the sixth story warehouse window where Oswald is believed to have been hiding.
They now believe that the bullet in the neck entered from the neck, where the right shoulder meets the neck, and passed out through the hole in front, about two inches below the Adam's apple.
Dr. McClelland told the Post-Dispatch last night by telephone of the visit by the federal agents and the manner in which the doctors changed their opinion.
He said the investigators called on the doctors about a week ago at the Southwestern Medical School of the University of Texas, adjoining Parkland Memorial Hospital, where the President died a half hour after he was shot.
The visit was after the Federal Bureau of Investigation had completed its report of the assassination and the Justice Department had given it to the special investigating commission headed by Chief Justice Earl Warren.
"I was wandering down a hall when they snagged me," Dr. McClelland said. He was one of three physicians who worked on the President's throat and per-formed a tracheotomy, cutting a hole in the throat, in an effort to restore satisfactory breathing.
He said the Secret Service agents met with Dr. Malcolm Perry, the first doctor to reach the emergency room after the President had been carried in. and Dr. Tom Shires, who was out of the city at the time but arrived an hour later.
Ask To See Reports
Dr. McClellan said the investigators asked to see reports the doctors had written the day of the President's death about what they had seen and done in the emergency room. He said he recalled saying in his report that the throat wound might have been an entry wound.
Dr. Perry had told reporters the day of the assassination that the wound had the appearance of an entry wound. A few days later. Dr. McClelland had told the Post-Dispatch that he judged it to be an entry wound on the basis of considerable familiarity with gunshot wounds. He had said doctors at the hospital saw one a day and sometimes several a day, continuing that a bullet normally enters through a small hole and tears its way out through a large hole.
In the course of the conversation last week. Dr. McClelland said, the Secret Service men showed them the long autopsy report and pointed out the place where it described the course of the bullet in the President's neck.
Wound in Back of Neck
He said it told of an entry wound, which the Dallas doctors had not seen, in the back of the neck, low on the right side. The bullet passed to the right of the spinal column, not injuring it, but damaging the windpipe, the report stated, he said. The report indicated that the whole bullet or a large fragment of it passed out the front of the throat just above the breastbone.
Dr. McClelland said he did not know whether the autopsy report told of recovering a bullet from the President's body, as told in some accounts.
"I didn't read the entire report." he said. "I was mainly interested in finding out what the wound in the neck was."
Recalling his thinking the day of the assassination, Dr. McClelland pointed out that the Dallas doctors were with the President's body only about 22 minutes and were working to save his life, not to determine the course of the bullets.
Lying on Back
"He was lying on his back on the stretcher," the surgeon said. "It was not necessary or possible to examine him in the back. My first impression was the purest kind of supposition."
He said when he saw a small wound in the front of the neck and a large wound in the back of the head he thought it possible one bullet had caused both, entering at the throat, passing up along the vertebrae and going out the back of the head.
That conclusion was on the basis of "no complete history and no complete examination," he said. By history, he said, he meant the circumstances of where the bullets had come from.
A few days later, he said, the Dallas electors received a third-or fourth-hand report from the Naval Hospital that another wound had been found in the back of the neck and that the throat wound was thought to be an exit wound. That report, along with news of the supposed position of Oswald in the ware-house window, caused them to start reconstructing the shooting in their minds, so that both bullets came from behind.
"This was confirmed by the autopsy report," he said.
Accepting Report
Dr. McClelland said he and Dr. Perry fully accept the Naval Hospital's explanation of the course of the bullets.
"I am fully satisfied that the two bullets that hit him were from behind," he said. "As far as I am concerned, there is no reason to suspect that any shots came from the front."
The Associated Press gave this new account of the wounds, as reported by a source fully acquainted with results of the post mortem examination conducted at the Naval Hospital:
The first shot struck Mr. Kennedy in the back, made what was described as a small, neat hole and penetrated two or three inches without damaging vital organs.
The bullet may even have entered Mr. Kennedy's back after first glancing off some part of the presidential limousine, because its penetration was not deep when compared with the damage done by the other shot. The first bullet was said to have been the one that was recovered from the stretcher on which Mr. Kennedy was carried into the hospital.
The Fatal Wound
The second bullet to strike Mr. Kennedy, the third bullet fired, left a large hole in the back of the President's head, destroyed considerable brain tissue and severely damaged the forehead. Unquestionably, this wound was fatal, the source told the AP. In effect, it caused instant death, although a faint spark of life may have remained a few minutes in the heart and lungs. This bullet, the source said, was recovered from the limousine.
The second shot fired by the assassin hit Gov. John B. Connally of Texas in the chest as he turned toward Mr. Kennedy after the first bullet hit the President. The source said Connally's wound was at approximately the same elevation as the one in Mr. Kennedy's back. He was seated in front of Mr. Kennedy on a jump seat.
Because there was an interval of five or six seconds between Mr. Kennedy's first and second wounds, the new account leaves the implication that Mr. Kennedy might have survived, perhaps escaped serious injury, had he quickly thrown himself to the floor of his limousine after the first bullet struck, the AP said.
It seems apparent, however, that Mr. Kennedy was unable to react immediately except to throw his hands in front of him. the AP said. Mr. Kennedy's life might have been saved had some-one shielded him or knocked him to the floor of the car before he was struck in the head, the AP reported.
Secret Service agents are trained to react in such a fashion, but none was close enough to the President to intervene. Mr. Kennedy did not want agents at his elbow except when driving in heavy crowds. The crowd was a thin one at the point where the President was assassinated.
If a witness is exposed to outside information, it can interfere with their ability to accurately to recall their own experiences.
Dr. McClelland’s approval may have been half-hearted. In a 12/21/1963 article in The New Republic, Richard Dudman added this detail on his meeting with McClelland: “The throat wound puzzled the surgeons who attended Mr. Kennedy at Parkland Memorial Hospital when they learned how the Dallas police had reconstructed the shooting. Dr. Robert McClelland, one of the three doctors who worked on the throat wound, told me afterward that they still believed it to be an entry wound, even though the shots were said to have been fired almost directly behind the President. He explained that he and his colleagues at Parkland saw bullet wounds every day, sometimes several a day, and recognized easily the characteristically tiny hole of an entering bullet, in contrast to the larger, tearing hole that an exiting bullet would have left”.
The early Parkland reports were condensed in the January 1964 edition of the Texas State Journal of Medicine, in the article Three Patients at Parkland (CD 374 [link 2] [text]), which was partially edited by Dr. Marion Jenkins (JFK: From Parkland to Bethesda by Vincent Palamara, 2015 [link]). Instead of mentioning the “left temple”, the article simply says “The cause of death, according to Dr. McClelland was the massive head and brain injury from a gunshot wound of the right side of the head”.
Dr. Robert Shaw was a Parkland Hospital employee who treated Texas Governor John Connally. He was not there to see the body of President Kennedy, but he would have had the opportunity to hear what his fellow employees discussed about the case. According to the British magazine Today, February 1964, Dr. Shaw wrote the following to reporter Larry Ross: “The first bullet struck the President in the back of the neck at the region of the second thoracic vertebrae and emerged from the front of his neck, piercing his trachea. The third bullet struck the President on the left side of the head in the region of the left temporal region and made a large wound of exit on the right side of the head” (Link link 2).
On 3/21/1964, Dr. McClelland testified to the Warren Commission:
Mr. SPECTER - Have you had discussions with the other doctors who attended President Kennedy as to the possible nature of the wound which was inflicted on him?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - And what facts did you have available either to you or to the other doctors whom you talked this over with, with respect to the nature of the wound, source of the wounds, and that sort of thing?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Immediately we had essentially no facts. We knew nothing of the number of bullets that had supposedly been fired. We knew nothing of the site from which the bullet had been fired, essentially none of the circumstances in the first few minutes, say, 20 or 30 minutes after the President was brought in, so that our initial impressions were based upon extremely incomplete information.
Mr. SPECTER - What were your initial impressions?
Dr. McCLELLAND - The initial impression that we had was that perhaps the wound in the neck, the anterior part of the neck, was an entrance wound and that it had perhaps taken a trajectory off the anterior vertebral body and again into the skull itself, exiting out the back, to produce the massive injury in the head. However, this required some straining of the imagination to imagine that this would happen, and it was much easier to explain the apparent trajectory by means of two bullets, which we later found out apparently had been fired, than by just one then, on which basis we were originally taking to explain it.
Mr. SPECTER - Through the use of the pronoun "we" in your last answer, to whom do you mean by "we"?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Essentially all of the doctors that have previously been mentioned here.
Mr. SPECTER - Did you observe the condition of the back of the President's head?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Well, partially; not, of course, as I say, we did not lift his head up since it was so greatly damaged. We attempted to avoid moving him any more than it was absolutely necessary, but I could see, of course, all the extent of the wound. Mr. SPECTER - You saw a large opening which you have already described?
Dr. McCLELLAND - I saw the large opening which I have described.
Mr. SPECTER - Did you observe any other wound on the back of the head?
Dr. McCLELLAND - No.
Mr. SPECTER - Did you observe a small gunshot wound below the large opening on the back of the head?
Dr. McCLELLAND - No.
Mr. SPECTER - Based on the experience that you have described for us with gunshot wounds and your general medical experience, would you characterize the description of the wound that Dr. Perry gave you as being a wound of entrance or a wound of exit, or was the description which you got from Dr. Perry and Dr. Baxter and Dr. Carrico who were there before, equally consistent with whether or not it was a wound of entrance or a wound of exit, or how would you characterize it in your words?
Dr. McCLELLAND - I would say it would be equally consistent with either type wound, either an entrance or an exit type wound. It would be quite difficult to say--impossible.
Mr. SPECTER - Dr. McClelland, I show you now a statement or a report which has been furnished to the Commission by Parkland Hospital and has been identified in a previous Commission hearing as Commission Exhibit No. 392, and I direct your attention specifically to a page, "Third Report", which was made by you, and I would ask you first of all if this is your signature which appears at the bottom of Page 2, and next, whether in fact you did make this report and submit it to the authorities at Parkland Hospital?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - And are all the facts set forth true and correct to the best of your knowledge, information and belief?
Dr. McCLELLAND - To the best of my knowledge, yes.
Mr. SPECTER - Dr. McClelland, did you and I sit down together for just a few minutes before I started to take your deposition today?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes, sir.
Mr. SPECTER - And I discussed this matter with you?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - And, during the course of our conversations at that time, we cover the same material in question form here and to which you have responded in answer form with the court reporter here today?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - And has the information which you have given me on record been the same as that which you gave me off of the record in advance?
Dr. McCLELLAND - Yes.
Mr. SPECTER - Do you have any interest, Dr. McClelland in reading your testimony over or signing it at the end, or would you be willing to waive such signature of the testimony?
Dr. McCLELLAND - I would be willing to waive my signature.
Mr. SPECTER - Thank you so much for coming and giving us your deposition today.
Dr. McCLELLAND - All right, thank you.

2020.11.21 23:31 Particular-Rub-5279 Michelle's Method #2-Dealing with Men 101

This Saturday's topic will deal with how to approach texting. I will lightly discuss emailing, as well as some aspects of online dating. The main focus will be on dealing with texts. I will feature some further details on online dating and emailing later.
Background--More and more women are meeting men through online dating and texting has become part of the online dating world. I personally do not believe or consider online dating to exist. Let me explain.
In no way should it ever be acceptable to women that men are trying to push their buttons via text or online while refusing to date them in person. The purpose of using an online dating site is to find more suitable men specific to one's own needs for the prospect of dating, not to confuse a fake online pseudorelationship with no live contact with dating, sex, or relationships. In this sense, it is not acceptable in my method to claim that online dating is real or exist. Why?
There are many compelling reasons, but I will give you the top ten: he is married, he is a liar or antisocial, he is deafeningly shy, he is a commitmentphobe, he is passive-aggressive, he is socially awkward, he is hiding behind something, he is incredibly busy, he is not who he says he is, he is a cheat. I will not explain this list as it is self-explanatory. Having written that, I am well aware that some people cheat online and via text. While these pseudorelationships are not real, cheating in any context is, and a real man would meet with you.
Women want to progress with dating, sex, and relationships, and claiming that online relationships or online texting situations over long periods of time are real is counterproductive to Michelle's Method. Dealing with Men 101 covers the logistics and basics, and fake situations are not the outcome I want to see or hear about. So that written,
The Rules -
  1. Drop any man who insists on texting over phone calls, meeting in person, and written notes. Accept no excuses.
  2. Block any man who continues to text after you cut him off. Do not continually text or chat online. You allow him three days to text or chat online, then you pull the date or cut off method-part of Michelle's Method is to get the date.
  3. The Date or Cut Off Method requires that he ask you out on a date and show up after three days of chatting and texting online or on the phone. The way to pull this off is to gently text or write that he is very interesting and you would like to see him in person because you are busy. DO NOT ASK HIM OUT OR BE SPECIFIC. You may lead up to the topic in conversation with gentle nudges, innuendos, or suggestions. Make certain the comment is direct, polite, not too specific. The ball is in his court now. If he does not make a suggestion for a date (WHICH ACCORDING TO MY METHOD IS A DAY, TIME, LOCATION RIGHT THEN AND THERE OR IT IS NOT DATE AND WILL BE DISCARDED ALONG WITH HIM), he is not doing his groundwork, and will be cut off. No warning. Just block. Any excuses or buying time leads to a permanent block.
  4. While this may seem harsh, it prevents you from wasting time on useless or questionable men. Texting and chatting online are sidelines to the real goal of an actual relationship. Reread my background section and remember according to Michelle's Method, the only relationships that are real are sexually, physically, romantically present ones. According to Michelle's Method, asexual and long-distance relationships are only for the chosen few who are designed for those relationships. I will get to how to pull those off for a specific audience later.
  5. Do not accept a date with this man if he counter-offers. Especially if he uses another phone. Block him immediately. NO SECOND CHANCES. This avoids passive aggression in men as well as ego and competition.
  6. Do not text only one man at a time. Make certain to get back in there and respond to other men.
  7. Do not respond to men you do not want to date or want to screen out. E.g. if you don't date single fathers, put it on your profile, block them out, and do not respond to texts or emails from these men. Not because there is anything wrong with them, but you don't date them. Why are you responding to them?
  8. Responses to men who you don't want or don't want you are counterproductive and will not help you. They can be used against you or become misfires, lead to more arguing, or cause image damage. Damage control on image is a big part of Michelle's Method, though I prize authenticity. Just block them, delete them, screen them out. You don't want them and don't know them...why waste time explaining? Women do not owe an explanation to men who take an interest and are not wanted.
  9. Don't get your hopes up from texting. Remember to use humor and charm to get a man's attention. Keep text short, sweet, and slightly mysterious. Do not pour your heart out online or reveal personal details. Let him ask the questions. He should lead. If he stalls, make a light comment or ask one question. If he still stalls, he is too shy for you. Block him. You do not do all the work. He must lead and do the work at first.
  10. Do not waste time on men who are not interested. Try to put up a great profile and get them interested. It is best to let them contact you first. Use a great picture but not too sexy. Leave dogs and children AS WELL AS EX SPOUSES out of the picture. Do not put up pictures of yourself doing wild activities. Do not lie. Don't claim to be forty if you are fifty. This will backfire and get you eliminated from potential dates and situations with promise. You can email men but a better approach is to go on chatlines and respond to men who greet you on there as well as putting up dating profiles. While is generally not advised, there is no harm in using more than one dating profile on the same site. See which is most effective and make use of that one. It also allows for more attention and opportunity. Use your dating profile as your advertisement and focus on those who respond. You will get better results if you work with men who lead and approach you first, not the other way around.

2020.11.21 16:44 eastnole 3 weeks off work- where to start?

Hi all, first off before it gets mentioned, I looked through the sub reddit at the list of online courses and it was very comprehensive and frankly a little overwhelming, especially for a newbie ;)
I'm launching a startup next year, I've invented a back pain product, hopefully in April. I'm gonna launch on Kickstarter more than likely, and learning something about fb twitter and linkedin etc is gonna help a lot.
Since I'm a teacher, I've got 3 weeks off work over xmas and due to obvious reasons, a holiday is out of the question.
Now I'm aware that I'm not gonna become some sort of whizz at digital marketing in that time but I can conceivably spend a solid 9-5 working day studying some courses, free or paid is fine, and that's gonna give me a big advantage in the future.
Where should I start? I'm guessing the FB 100-101 is ideal, but I can't find how long it would take to actually complete. Since I'm not really in need of the certs, just the knowledge (although I might take them at a later date) how far could one get in 3 weeks?
I know this is a very broad question, but any tips would be great👍

"Daily case counts reflect newly reported cases and may represent cases that were tested in the preceding days, which could significantly impact the count on days when a relatively large number of laboratory reports arrive in one day." SNHD confirmed they are not counting COVID-19 antibody positives into their COVID-19 positive case counts.
Majority of information is pulled from Southern Nevada Health District's COVID-19 dashboard and historical reports.
Our positives are increasing about under 1000/day, our recovery rate has decreased (85+% range), and our hospitalizations are rising. Protect our vulnerable and continue to practice good hygiene habits, including wearing a mask to prevent asymptomatic spread as mandated by Governor Sisolak (onus is on businesses, which we want to keep open, but Metro will not enforce it; OSHA is responsible for mask enforcement by fining the business). To report a non-compliant business through the state, call (702) 486-9020 or (775) 688-3700.
Doctors are doing convalescent plasma therapy treatments and are seeking plasma donors to help those in need. One plasma donation can help five patients. Blood donors can get the antibodies testing done for free.
FDA states 144 trials of therapeutics are underway to treat COVID-19. 457 more are in planning stages. Remdesivir has been FDA approved as a COVID-19 treatment (10/22). Despite recent studies showing that Remdesivir do not help in preventing COVID-19 deaths. Dexamethaaone is FDA approved for emergency base use. Eli Lilly's antibody treatment, bamlanivimab, receives emergency FDA approval (11/9).
Nevada has been approved for the 24-hour test procedure. FDA has approved a 30-minute and a 5-minute testing procedures. UNLV provides the main COVID-19 testing services. The first at-home testing kit was FDA approved on 5/15.
If you live within a 1-mile range of the Wal-Mart on Craig Rd, you qualify for a drone-delivered test kit to your front or back door.
Some testing sites require an appointment; some may need to be scheduled by your primary care physician or another authorized provider.
More test sites will open throughout December:
Drive-thru testing at Texas Station reopened on 11/13. 8am to 4pm, Thursday thru Monday. No appointment needed, results in 24 to 48hrs (setup your MyChart app account; 3 business day process).
City Serve coordinates testing sites throughout the valley. Testing is only on Saturdays. Schedule a no-cost test here: https://cityservelv.org/
The antibodies test was approved by the FDA a month ago. UMC, E7 Health and local laboratories are able to conduct antibodies testing. Cost is normally $149+, but your insurance may reimburse you for the test. Check your coverage first. Vitalant/Universal Blood Services will do a free antibody test for any eligible donors.
UMC is able to process 4,000 tests per day. It is encouraged for anyone to be tested. Symptoms are no longer required. Appointment is preferred, walk-up testing is available.
UMC's testing sites are inside Thomas & Mack Center and Cashman Field Center. They can do 1,200 tests per day, Tues-Sat 8am to 4pm. No symptoms, insurance, or citizenship required for testing. Schedule an appointment online through UMC's website (www.umcsn.com). A staff member will contact you back to schedule your appointment. According to their reps, there is no limit how often you can get tested. Sites are walk-in, appointment or walk-up. Both sites now use the self-nasal swab test kits.
UMC updates COVID-19 test guidelines:
New guidelines are to save test kits for those exhibiting symptoms.
See all testing locations on the SNHD website.
All CVS pharmacy drive-thru locations also does testing, no cost should be associated with this test. Validate with your insurance. If no insurance, there should be no charge. Requires an appointment scheduled.
Six months ago, the first vaccine was tested. More than 160 vaccine prototypes are being tested. Clinical trials of the vaccine were administered three months ago. Phase 1 & 2 of trial vaccines have completed with positive antibody results. Phase 3 clinical trials started with 30k volunteers; large test size of 3k vaccine test trials in the UK. Africa started their vaccine trials four months ago. Multiple sources stating to expect an FDA approved vaccine by beginning of next year.
Of the 100+ vaccines submitted, 22 have made the cut to go through testing and final FDA approval phases (5/15 briefing). The front runner vaccine is conducting human trails (Phase 3 aka final stage), completion date is pending. AstraZeneca is prepared to produce 2 billion doses once the vaccine is FDA approved. Pfizer claims their vaccine is more than 95% effective; goal end of the year. Moderna vaccine claims about 94.5% effective. Expected US authorization for Pfizer and Moderna along with distribution approval is expected within 24hrs of regulatory approval (note: they currently have 20M doses ready; vaccine is a two stage dose).
US government is working with four vaccine manufacturers who are in the final phases of vaccine trials, all prepared for massive vaccine output once FDA approval is given. Worldwide, six are in Phase III.
Phase 3 vaccine trials for Vegas has started. Volunteers can call 702-893-8968. Must be 18+. Administered by the Wake Clinical Research Center of Nevada. Source.
Remain mindful to give our medical community the ability to focus on those in need of their expertise to survive and combat the virus.
